Si elle fonctionne, une solution serait d'associer une touche (ou une combinaison de touche) au lancement de cette commande (Depuis Xfce : dans Paramètres, Clavier, puis Raccourcis d'applications).

D'accord, c'est curieux, en effet.
Ça ressemble quand même à un problème matériel (puisque lié à l'appui sur le bouton).
C'est le bouton du tableau de bord.Pas celui du boitier.
Il faudrait peut-être observer les rapports pour voir si un message d'erreur apparaît.
Voici ce que je peux voir dans le fichier /var/log/kern.log, suite à une mise en veille simple :

C'est assez curieux, la première fois que j'ai entré [code=user]systemctl suspend[/code]
j'ai eu une veille écran suivie d'un redémarrage immédiat. Apparemment rien dans les logs.
Comme je n'avais pas regardé l'heure j'ai recommencé et là j'ai en une mise en veille prolongéee qui a duré quelques secondessuivie d'un réveil "normal" (sans le grub).
A ce moment là, les logs sont assez bavardes :

Il y a bien eu une mise en veille : messages PM (suspend, resume...). Et tout semble bien se dérouler.
La mise en veille qui apparaît dans le log est marquée S3, ce qui signifie une mise en veille en RAM (donc simple), donc jusqu'ici rien d'anormal.
Par contre, à chaque passage en veille et sortie de veille, je trouve que la carte réseau (wifi ici) s'exprime beaucoup. Ce n'est pas le cas sur ma machine. Il faudrait peut-être désactiver le réseau (clic droit sur l'icone réseau) et ré-essayer une mise en veille.

J'ai désactivé la carte Wifi et tenté la mise en veille par le bouton du tableau de bord et Bingo, ça marche.
En fait le PC est câblé donc la Wifi n'est activée que pour communiquer avec l'imprimante, ce que je fais d'autant plus rarement que je n'ai toujours pas réussi à l'installer correctement, mais ceci est une autre histoire, donc pour l'instant disons que le problème est résolu, encore que de mémoire le "wake-up by LAn ne soit pas activé dans l'UEFI" mais je ne vais pas me prendre le chou pour ça.
Mais surtout, il y a aussi le message "ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND" qui est anormal, ainsi que le message "usb 1-7:1.0: rebind failed: -517".
Je ne suis pas spécialiste sur la question, mais de mon point de vue, il semble que le problème soit lié à la communication entre le mécanisme ACPI et un driver de périphérique usb.
Je n'ai pas la solution, mais voici plusieurs pistes :
- Mettre à jour le noyau (si ce n'est pas déjà fait) ou tester la mise en veille avec un autre noyau de ton OS.
- Mettre à jour le bios de ta machine car l'ACPI est fortement lié au bios (mais à faire prudemment pour ne pas flinguer le bios).
Le message ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, que j'ai aussi au démarrage (ou à peu près) est provoqué par un switch écran/USB entre ce PC et un vieux PC W10 mourant mais encore utile.
L'USB n'est plus utilisé parce que W10 ne reconnait pas ma souris mais reste actif pour basculer l'écran. Le swich fonctionne bien mais visiblement quelque chose ne plaît pas à DEBIAN. Là aussi je laisse couler parce que cela ne me dérange pas plus que ça et qu'un jour mon vieux PC Windows mourra définitivement et le switch avec.
En tout cas si je peux maintenant passer en veille quand je veux, je considère que mon souci est résolu et je t'en remercie.
