[RÉSOLU] Formater et/ou effacer clé USB

Bonjour tout le monde,

Avant toute chose, bonne année 2024 et excellents voeux à tous les membres de la communauté Debian Facile!!! Comme l'indique le titre, je souhaite résoudre un souci que j'ai avec une clé USB (marque Philips). A l'origine, j'ai arraché la clé "sauvagement", sans l'avoir éjecté proprement... Les fichiers stockés dessus s'en sont retrouvés endommagés, et j'ai pu en récupérer une petite partie en faisant des copier/coller. J'ai voulu utiliser testdisk (que j'ai decouvert en faisant quelques recherches), mais faute de temps, j'ai abandonné la procédure en cours (il y a 18 giga de données sur cette clé, pour info). Je voudrais donc, afin de régler ce souci une bonne fois pour toutes, effacer le contenu présent sur cette clé. J'ai essayé clique droit/supprimer, aucun résultat. J'ai voulu formater la clé avec l'outil accessoires/disques: la procédure se lance, mais 4 heures après ce n'est toujours pas fini?!? Ma question est donc la suivante: existe t'il un moyen radical (et plus rapide) afin d'effacer complètement le contenu de cette clé (soit en reformatant ou en effaçant le contenu), en ligne de commande par exemple? J'ai vu qu'il y avait des solutions telles que fdisk, mais j'ai peur de mal m'y prendre et de refaire à nouveau une bêtise... Merci d'avance de votre aide.

Tu peux aussi la formater avec GParted, tu sélectionnes ta clé  :

ensuite Périphériques → Créer une table de partitions

Tu choisis le nouveau type de partitions soit msdos ou gpt.


Crée une nouvelle partition avec Partition → Nouvelle

Dans la sous-fenêtre Créer une partition dans Système de fichiers, choisis le système de fichiers que tu veux.

Mets un nom dans le champ Nom de la partition et dans le champ Étiquette.


Va dans Édition → Appliquer toutes les opérations


Une fenêtre de confirmation s'affiche, clique sur Appliquer

Une fois le formatage accompli, ferme GParted. Ouvre ou consulte ton navigateur de fichiers, ton support de stockage formaté apparaît.



Si tu veux plus de choix comme système de fichiers, il te faudra rajouter des paquets comme dépendances à GParted :

aptitude show gparted | grep Sugg

Suggère: dmraid, dmsetup, dosfstools, e2fsprogs, gpart, jfsutils, kpartx, mtools, ntfs-3g, reiser4progs, reiserfsprogs, udftools, xfsprogs, exfatprogs, yelp

Merci de ta réponse gilles. Pour info, je suis sous Debian 10, j'ai cinnamon comme environnement de bureau et après avoir vérifié je crois que je ne dispose pas de gparted. Dois-je d'abord l'installer avant?

Tu dois choisir un système de fichiers, je conseille ExFAT compatible Windows, Linux, Mac, ce qui fait que tu dois installer le paquet exfatprogs. Et ensuite soit installer GParted ou bien utiliser la ligne de commande : mkfs.exfat

Bonjour diago26,
oui pour l'installation de gparted bien sûr mais il serait temps de songer à passer à une version Debian un peu plus fraiche big_smile.
Debian 10 est une LTS mais elle ne sera plus prise en charge dans quelques mois (en juillet 24).
Je te conseille la mise à jour vers la 11 pour gagner 2 ans (et éventuellement remise à jour pour la 12 et être tranquille 2 ans de plus).
Note que parfois (selon ton niveau ou les bidouilles étranges faites pendant des années) il est bien plus facile de réinstaller hmm

Très bien,je vais tenter avec Gparted et je ferai un retour des résultats. Et pour la migration vers Debian 11 puis 12 par la suite, c'est prévu prochainement. Je voudrais juste résoudre ce problème de clé USB avant de franchir le pas.

Du coup j'ai fait un essai avec gparted, rien de concluant... Au début le formatage s'est lancé et la procédure s'est comme figée... Autre chose, quand j'insère la clé USB, en temps normal une fenêtre s'ouvre avec le contenu de la clé, et là plus rien.

lsusb






Débranche la clé.
Exécute:

dmesg -W





Rebranche la clé. Mets ici dans le forum les changements intervenus dans

dmesg -W


Les éventuels messages affichés indiqueront comment le noyau voit la clé.
Ctrl+c pour arrêter la commande.

Je ne vois pas l'intérêt de la commande blkid.
La version de dmesg dans buster est trop vieille et ne supporte pas l'option -W. Il faut te rabattre sur l'option -w qui affiche d'abord tout le contenu du tampon (sans intérêt ici).

Il vaut mieux montrer que raconter.

J'ai acheté cette clé USB sur Amazon, pour les détails: Marque: Philips / Numéro du modèle de l'article / FM32FD75B/00 / série : FM12FD70B/00
je ne pense pas que ce soit une contrefaçon du coup, d'autres modèles similaires sont vendus partout ailleurs. Elle est reconnue par le système et elle n'a pas subie de "mauvais traitements" (chutes,etc...)

Si la clé n'est pas défectueuse, c'est le port USB.
Edit:
Autre chose : d'après https://www.philips.fr/c-p/FM32FD75B_00/cle-usb cette clé est censée être USB 3.0 (super speed) or les logs suivants indiquent que bien qu'elle soit branchée à un port USB 3 ("xhci") elle est reconnue comme un périphérique USB 2 ("high-speed") donc il y a un souci matériel quelque part.

Je viens de voir qu'il existe cette commande plus détaillée pour lsusb :

lsusb -v -d idVendor:idProduct soit pour cette clé :

Parce que jusque là, c'est hyper flou :

sdb étant la clé USB en question.

...en #9, il est question de sdb qui serait une clé de 128 Go
mais le retour de la commande est tronqué (?) [ou inexistant ???]
il manque ce genre de ligne (là une clé de 16Go)

Cela peut s'expliquer par une table de partition vide ou illisible, ce qui est corroboré par le message suivant :

[ 5278.234305]  sdb: unable to read partition table


Il vaut mieux montrer que raconter.
