Bonjour,

à toutes et tous,

j'ai voulu faire une mise à jour d'un serveur et la mise à jour de grub a échouée. Le serveur fonctionne avec un RAID et si je tente cette commande:

grub-install /dev/sda

grub-install : erreur : disque « mduuid/8c59877a96b9b7986175113dd3375c61 » non disponible.

Pouvez-vous m'aider ?

Je ne vois pas d'où ça peut venir. L'option -v affiche plus d'informations, mais c'est très (trop) bavard et il faut trier.
Quelle est la structure des disques ?

Les deux ensembles RAID sont dégradés, leurs membres sur /dev/sda sont marqués défaillants.

Je suppose que /dev/md0 contient /boot ?
Pourquoi le swap n'est-il pas en RAID ?

Je ne garantis pas que c'est la cause de l'erreur de GRUB (je crois que j'ai déjà installé GRUB sur un ensemble RAID dégradé, mais sans membre défaillant, avec un membre manquant), mais il me semble qu'il faudrait réparer ces ensembles RAID avant de réinstaller GRUB car du RAID sans redondance n'est pas une situation d'avenir.

1) Retirer les membres défaillants.
2) Vérifier/tester/remplacer le disque /dev/sda.
3) Réintégrer les membres manquants et attendre la fin de la reconstruction.

Pour retirer les membres défaillants :

mdadm /dev/md0 --remove /dev/sda1

mdadm /dev/md1 --remove /dev/sda3

Pour tester le disque en lecture seule :

smartctl -a /dev/sda

badblocks -sv /dev/sda

Un test en lecture-écriture plus poussé est possible :

badblocks -svw /dev/sda1

badblocks -svw /dev/sda3

Pour réintégrer les membres si le disque est bon (ou un nouveau disque partitionné comme l'ancien, attention à l'UUID du swap que je recommande de désactiver dans /etc/fstab)

mdadm /dev/md0 --add /dev/sda1

mdadm /dev/md1 --add /dev/sda3

Surveiller la reconstruction en regardant dans /proc/mdstat.

Vu. Je voudrais revenir sur le swap.

Le swap d'un système en RAID devrait être en RAID aussi, car si un disque qui contient du swap tombe en panne, le système peut ne plus fonctionner correctement, ce qui va à l'encontre de la finalité du RAID (la disponibilité). Bien sûr le RAID 1 diviserait sa taille par 2, passant de 1 Gio à 512 Mio.

Par contre si j'interprète correctement la sortie de df, cette machine a 32 Go de mémoire, donc un swap de 512 Mio ou 1 Gio c'est tout simplement ridicule, ça ne sert à rien à part causer des ennuis en cas de panne disque. Autant ne pas utiliser de swap du tout, ce sera plus sûr et pas besoin de s'embêter à le mettre en RAID.
