[Résolu] Problème de boot Grub sur Debian 9 - Latitude E5410

Bonjour à tous !

J'ai un soucis sur l'ordi d'un ami (Dell Latitude E5410) sur lequel j'avais installé DFlinux Stretch qui ne boot plus pour une raison inconnue :

J'ai droit à ce message au démarrage :

error : file '/boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.

J'ai tenté une réparation avec boot-repair qui n'a rien changé, et je n'ai rien trouvé en faisant mes recherches.

Avec le système live, vérifie le contenu du répertoire /boot/grub/i386-pc/ de la partition sda1, notamment la présence du fichier normal.mod.
S'il n'est plus là, tu peux le recopier depuis /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/. S'il y est, compare les deux fichiers. S'il est identique, redémarre sur le disque et à l'invite grub rescue, relève les valeurs de cmdpath, prefix et root affichées par la commande "set".
Vérifie que la commande suivante affiche le contenu du répertoire /boot/grub/i386-pc/ que tu avais examiné avec le système live :

ls $prefix/

Un éditeur de texte comme mousepad ne peut carrément pas l'ouvrir.

En grub rescue, les commandes

C'est "set" tout court qui affiche toutes les variables définies. Sinon "echo $variable", mais c'est moins pratique à taper.
Pour comparer deux fichier binaires sous GNU/Linux, commande "cmp".
Quand tu auras la valeur de $prefix, affiche le contenu de la racine puis remonte. Exemple :

ls (hd0,msdos1)/

ls (hd0,msdos1)/boot/

ls (hd0,msdos1)/boot/grub/

ls (hd0,msdos1)/boot/grub/i386-pc/

La même commande ls donne deux résultats différents ? ou bien erreur de copier/coller ?

Apparemment GRUB ne voit pas la même chose que Linux dans /boot/grub, pourtant il s'agit bien de la même partition /dev/sda1 / (hd0,msdos1)... Et dans /boot ?
Peut-être faire un fsck sur /dev/sda1.

L'architecture de GRUB BIOS est i386 même sur un PC 64 bits car le BIOS n'est pas 64 bits. Ce n'est qu'en UEFI qu'il y a des architectures de firmware 32 bits et 64 bits.

Tu es en train de dire qu'un ls sur /boot n'affiche rien et qu'un ls sur /boot/grub/ affiche un message d'erreur au sujet de /boot/grub/i386-pc inexistant ?

Sers toi du live netinstall de Debian, tu as dans les options avancées, un mode de récupération qui te permet de réinstaller le grub.
t'as juste à renseigner la partition où installer le grub, et debian fait tout seul le job, et quand tu redémarres tu retrouves ton grub (en théorie)

chez moi ça a fonctionné après avoir explosé le grub à vouloir modifier le thème et le grub.cfg, j'ai découvert par le pur des hasard que les options avancées de l'iso ,netinstall proposé un mode de récuparation, bien pratique je trouve

supergrubdisk ne fait que remplacer le grub du disque quand celui ci est défaillant .

c'est juste un grub de remplacement sur disque (ou clé usb , là j'ai pas testé)

qui te permet de démarrer le(s) syteme(s) présent(s) sur ton(tes) disque(s) .

mais je crois que melissa a eu une meilleure idée que moi .

Mais j'ai oublié le mot de passe, il faudra que je le ré-initialise une fois Grub réparé

Tu dois démarrer sur ton cdrom debian en mode rescue, puis passer en chroot.

Là, tu peux vérifier les paquets grub installés et même les réinstaller si nécessaire.

Pour information, ton fichier manquant fait partie du paquet grub-pc-bin

Tu peux ensuite installer grub proprement (grub-install).

Quelle procédure exacte je dois utiliser ? (J'ai juste fait update-grub et ça n'a rien changé. Je suppose que ce n'est pas suffisant.)

une fois que tu as accédé à ton systeme avec super grub disk ,

inspire toi de cette page : https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/comm … aurer_grub

et tapes :

grub-install /dev/sdX

si ton disque est sda , remplace sdX par sda... bien sûr .

update-grub

y a pas plus simple .

après , tu peux redémarrer , et , sauf erreur , tu retrouves ton systeme .

si ça ce complique , faudra demander à plus calé que moi .
