nomodeset et i915 ?

Bonjour, J’ai retrouvé mon pc portable en train de rebooter en boucle, il plantait après le grub sans afficher de message d’erreur. Après avoir vérifié côté hardware, avoir testé des livecd/usb qui ne démarraient pas plus j’ai tenté une réinstallation (debian stable) qui à aboutit sans souci mais le problème est revenu au reboot.
Finalement avec l’argument nomodese ajouté au lancement du noyau la situation s’est débloquée, le système se lance mais  X  plante et donc ...écran noir. Du coup avec nomodeset j’ai pu lancer un liveCD d’Ubuntu et une installation. Là, sous Ubuntu, tout semble fonctionner mais je pense que le driver graphique (=I915 )  n’est pas utilisé, les jeux habituellement fluides sont injouables.

Je n’arrive pas bien à saisir la portée de nomodeset, est-il possible de l’utiliser conjointement au driver Intel et retrouver un système fonctionnel sous Debian  ?
Ce pc à manqué de fiabilité depuis le premier jours. Comme cela lui est arriver sans raison apparente (tout en ayant eu 2 retours à la normale quand je bidouillais la partie hardware) , j’imagine bien un problème matériel. Est-ce possible en l’état ?

En fait, nomodeset empêche l'utilisation du driver intel dans le kernel.
Donc sur un pc qui a un gpu intel, le kernel bascule sur un framebuffer jusqu'au chargement de xorg qui par default utiliser modessettings (les drivers in-kernel)
ce qui donc te fait perdre en performance.
Je déconseilles d'utiliser des options drastiques comme nomodeset sans savoir l'impact de cette option.....
Comme le montre le log xorg, il peut pas charger sur un framebuffer.

En revanche, sans nomodeset et sans xorg (ou au moment du chargement et du crash de xorg), as-tu accès à la console tty. (ligne de commande) (avec ctrl + alt + fX avec X compris entre 1 et 6).
Si tu as accès à la ligne de commande, un retour de la commande

dmesg

pourrait aider à résoudre le problème.
Aussi pour voir directement les erreurs et les warnings,

dmesg -l err,warn

(éviter de piper vers un grep car on peut louper des infos, donc éviter sauf si on sait spécifiquement ce que l'on cherche...).

Après si sous ubuntu ça marche c'est peut-être juste une histoire de firmware non préinstallés sous debian.

Après je ne sais à pas à quels jeux tu joues, mais sur un pentium (meme skylake) avec une intel intégrée.... c'est pour de la bureautique, cela ne serais pas très étonnant que les jeux ne soient pas fluides.

(mais tout de meme faut savoir si ubuntu conserve après l'installation la conf grub mise au boot de l'installateur car les jeux habituellement fluides.......)

Merci, ça s'éclaircit dans ma tête ! Oui, je sais bien que c'est pas un pc pour jouer smile  ça permet de juger rapidement des perfs avant/après.
Ca marche sous Ubuntu oui mais avec des perfs dégradées. J'ai bien essayé sous Debian de rajouter les firmware mais sans résultat.

Sans nomodeset rien ne boot (même avec X désactivé) mais avec, oui j'ai accès à une console.
Je veux bien un coup de main pour interpreter ça (les erreures de bios étaient presentes avant) :

C'est assez compliqué comme problème, as-tu à un moment eu (dans l'histoire de ta possession du laptop), eu un os qui fonctionnait (voire une distro linux) ?.
Es-tu certain d'un non problème hardware ?

Sinon j'ai fait pas mal de recherches (et il se trouve que c'est assez difficile d'avoir des infos si ce n'est que sur certains atom et pentium skylake, il y a des soucis) et j'essaierais déjà de voir si certain paramètres kernel pour i915, (en testant avec le live ubuntu), si cela boote sans crasher.
En mettant

intel_idle.max_cstate=1 i915.enable_dc=0

dans le grub (comme tu avais fais pour nomodeset) (l'un ou l'autre ou les deux et voir lequel des deux ou si il faut les deux pour que cela fonctionne, ou si aucun ne fonctionne).

Ca fait 5 ans que je l'ai sur la même installation de Debian (avec maj version) et il s'est mit à deconner d'un coup, je n'étais pas devant l'ecran à ce moment là donc je peux rien dire de plus.
Un problème hardware ? oui c'est ma conclusion après 2 jours a bidouiller mais je comprends pas pourquoi ça fonctionne quand même un peu...
Ok merci de t'y être penché, je regarde de suite ce qu'il se passe avec ces arguments.

Je ne sais pas trop mais tant que j'y penses si cela fonctionne avec nomodeset, peut-être que cela n'est pas un truc hardware qui ne fonctionne plus.
Pour en être sûr je rééssaierais un os que tu as déjà mis dessus et qui fonctionnait.

En revanche juste avant le problème as-tu fait une update ?

lol Je ne fais que ça depuis deux jours, Stretch, Buster, Bullseye,  niet !

Pas de màj non.Pas manuellement en tout cas, et si c'était en arrière plan y a pas de raison qu'il est redémarré tout seul.
