[résolu] installation AMD RX 6800 sur debian testing (bullseye) / sid

voilà , j'ai reçu ma nouvelle carte graphique .

même si , j' ai réussi à l'installer  sous ubuntu , en gros :
installer le kernel 5.10 et les pilotes git .

sous debian , je sèche

j'ai bien trouvé les pilotes  git .

mais leur installation ne semble pas  fonctionnelle .

pourtant , comme demandé en général , je suis à jour : kernel , Mesa et LLVM à jour .

si j'ai bien lu , le firmware 20201218-1 est en pleine migration .

espérons qu'il soit bon quand il arrivera .

car , pour l'instant ,

(1)- le firmware de testing ne supporte pas la carte .

(2)- le firmware de sid fait planter méchamment le démarrage .
plus aucun accès à la distribution ni en root (recovery) ni en user (gdm) ,
seul grub fonctionne .
reinstall obligatoire .

(3)- le firmware amdgpu (git) est sans effet .

Bonsoir
il te faut commencer par les erreurs ( même en console pure si le bureau plante ) .


journalctl -r -p err
 



virer le firmware (et toutes les choses que tu a testé )
si le noyau est correct il doit se plaindre qu'il manque le firmware et il va te dire ce qu'il cherche (les  .bin)
sinon le noyau est pas bon

ensuite il suffit de glisser les binaires qu'il manque dans le dossier "amdgpu"
tu dois rester en pure testing (et garder les paquets debian )  ou sid

si tu a de la chance il ne manque que les binaires pour cette carte pour le firmware-amd-graphics

le retour des erreurs et le log de X peu aider (tu peu switch entre wayland et X pour test )

nota: pense au paquet "xserver-xorg-vidéo-amdgpu"  pour X

ps: a priori tu est sous X d'après tes retours

nota: quand debian mettra le firmware a jours , il te suffit de désinstaller le firmware , faire un "rm -R" du dossier et installer le nouveau de debian puis redémarrer

je dois avoir CSM et autre os sur ma CM le "secure boot" inactif

donc toi tu a l'option du mappage de toute  la mémoire vive

test de la carte =>  https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= … inux&num=1

je n'ai pas la solution , a priori en version on est pas mal sous debian testing
c'est le chargement des binaires qui pose problème , que ce soit buster ( sans la 6800) ou sid avec prise en charge de la 6800 .
sous Ubuntu ça tourne en propriétaire ou en libre  pour la 6800 ( lien du 18/11/2020 )

j'ai pas la solution pour debian

je désactive nomodeset dans le /etc/default/grub.
update-grub.

et je reboote ...

plantage .
je retire les binaires de sienna_cichlid .

testé ma carte sur ubuntu 20.10 kernel 5.10

unigine valley :

2560 x 1440 : 159 fps en moyenne
(carte non reconnue)

unigine superposition :

4K optimisé : environ 86 fps (104 au maxi)
(carte reconnue)

Pour les exécuter sous Linux, la situation du pilote n'est pas la meilleure.
AMD a sorti le logiciel Radeon pour Linux version 20.45, qui ajoute la prise en charge de la série Radeon RX 6800,
mais ce pilote ne prend officiellement en charge qu'Ubuntu 20.04, RHEL / CentOS 7.9 et RHEL / CentOS 8.2.
Pour les pilotes Mesa, vous aurez besoin du noyau Linux 5.9, Mesa 20.2 (ou plus récent) et aussi de LLVM 11.0,
ce qui signifie que la plupart des distributions normales seront manquantes à moins que vous ne soyez prêt à
effectuer des mises à niveau manuelles majeures.
Donc, à moins que vous ne sachiez vraiment ce que vous faites de tout, vous voudrez probablement attendre.
 



je crois que fedora a des difficultés , open suse  aussi et peut être manjaro .

éventuellement , qqun peut il m 'expliquer  comment compiler un firmware-amd-graphics depuis git ?

si je pige bien , il me faut le dernier kernel , le dernier Mesa et le dernier firmware .

j'ai le kernel le pus récent . pas installé ceui de kernel.org , non plus .

j'ai le dernier mesa (enfin , je crois)

me manque le dernier firmware . j' espère qu'il sera bon , parce que celui de sid ne fonctionne pas .

un truc que je comprends pas : sous ubuntu , les versions 32 bits de mesa et de xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu ne semblent pas exister ,
pourtant , -- là -- , rjahanbakhshi les mentionne .

je ne sais que penser ???

pour le firmware-amd-graphics je sais pas , pas le matériel pour tester , je n'ai que les retours sur le net , et on parle bien de faire tourner la carte sans pilote propriétaire AMD .

les dépôts git (amdgpu) fonctionnent parfaitement  sous ubuntu .

mais sous debian , niet ! catrastrophe ! ...
