[clos] wayland et les fps

voilà , reçu ma carte graphique . (AMD RX 6800)

mis en place la solution du BTS (kernel 5.10.0-2)

tout fonctionne bien .

malgré tout , en double écran :

mauvais fps sur le bureau wayland . (30 ips)

le bureau Xorg fonctionne bien , lui . (60 fps)

comprends pas .

un avis ? , une piste ? des conseils ?

Je ne m'y connais pas du tout mais par curiosité : c'est quoi la la solution du BTS du kernel ?

Cela te gène que ça soit à 30ips ?
As tu essayé sur une résolution plus basse que 7680 x 2160 pour voir si il y a une différence de perf ?
Quel est la Carte graphique ? as tu essayé d'autres driver ?

7680 x 2160... j'ose même pas imaginer ce que ça donne big_smile... C'est quoi la taille de ton écran ?

la solution du BTS c'était de mettre à jour le kernel .
maintenant , les RX 6000 sont reconnues par debian .

c'est pas  que çà me gène mais je trouve çà curieux .
30 fps sur le bureau , à la rigueur , çà passe ...
mais je comprends pas pourquoi xrandr ne reconnaît que 30 fps sous wayland .

et , sous Xorg , xrandr reconnaît 60 fps .

d'où vient l'erreur ?
de la carte ? , de wayland ? du pilote ? du kernel ?

mes écrans sont en 4K chacun (32 pouces) .
et j'ai deux écrans .
3840x2160 par écran .
ce qui fait un total , comme tu dis , de 7680 x 2160
ma carte c'est une AMD RX 6800 sapphire radeon pulse .

cvt ne fait que calculer et afficher une modeline pour une résolution donnée qui peut être utilisée dans xorg.conf, il n'affecte pas le système.
As-tu vérifié la fréquence indiquée par l'OSD des écrans comme suggéré par Croutons ?

wayland : mon systeme se règle à 30 fps

alors , d'où vient l'erreur ?

d'un côté , c'est pas trop grave vu que j'utilise  souvent xorg ...

mais de l'autre , c'est pas  rassurant .

aurais tu un lien vers les caractéristique de ton(tes) écran?
y'aurait pas une histoire de câble des fois que tu aurais voulu employer des câbles que tu avais et qui n'ont pas la bonne norme ?
au minimum il me semble que tu devrais avoir une fréquence de 60Hz , après j'ai vu 75Hz ,80Hz, 120Hz ,145Hz

sous Wayland regarde plutôt sous le syslog pour ton gpu (cat /var/log/syslog)

ensuite a tu regardé avec un seul écran sous wayland ?

moi ce que je vois c'est que xrandr sous wayland ne te donne pas les sorties disponible sur ta carte (a moins que tu a tronquer le retour  )

ce qui est sur c'est que la carte a tout un tas de fonctions (comme free synchro par exemple )
je connais pas bien et pas les moyens pour avoir 2 écrans 4K et une RX6800 sur mes machines   tongue   wink
que te donne "arandr" comme sorties ?

par contre lancer un jeux sera beaucoup plus pertinent voir le nombre de fps sous wayland
le jeux que tu a (talos il me semble) regarde sous X , wayland et teste OpenGL et Vulkan (il est compatible Vulkan normalement )

nota: regarde le retour de glxinfo -B  sous wayland en user , je n'ai plus de machine en wayland mais le retour risque d'être négatif
mais ce qui est sur c'est le syslog sous wayland qui risque de te donner pas mal d'info sur ton gpu a l'init (pas que les drm  wink  )
a part d'avoir des yeux bioniques l'oeil humain a des limites , ça me fait sourire des écrans gamer avec des fréquences verticales a plus de 300Hz   tongue

remarque :

pour Talos Principle , je trouve plus l'option Vulkan , c'est peut être avec le driver propriétaire nvidia , sinon en "1280" je suis entre 100 et 130 fps avec mon petit gpu raven
pour Steam en wayland je sais pas si ça fonctionne , tu nous dira ce que tu a testé comme jeux .

sous wayland , avec un seul écran d'actif , j'ai 60 fps .
les deux écrans mis en service , je tombe à 30 fps par écran .
mais pour les jeux , çà ne change rien .
j'ai synchronisé ma carte sur mon écran ,
à chaque jeu , je tourne à 60 fps (nominal) sans lag .

jeux testés :

steam : dota 2 (vulkan) . 120 fps wayland  et Xorg

phoronix test suite : xonotic > 200 fps (Xorg) . en jeu sous wayland : 30fps (2 écrans) / 60 fps (1 écran)

benchmark : unigine Superposition : 86 fps en moyenne . Wayland et Xorg .

The Talos principle (vulkan) : 66 fgps . Wayland et Xorg .
