Oups, card0 semble correct (Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0)), par contre c'est peut-être CRT-0.
Si cela ne fonctionne toujours pas tu peux lister les fichiers edid avec : "ls -l /sys/class/drm/*/edid".

Parce que les données EDID sont corrompues ? Tu tentes le paramètre edid_firmware, cité en #22 ?

Ensuite ? ne redémarre pas, mais déconnecte-toi, puis reconnecte-toi, de/à ta session graphique X.
Testé sous Debian 9, avec nouveau (je doute que cela fonctionne avec nvidia... mais on aura tenté).

le nom de la carte dans le log de X ne correspond pas avec ce dossier
pour moi le log
alors que au dessus c'est "HDMI-A-2" la sortie connecter a l'écran
quand tout va bien ça donne ceci
ps: tu peu regarder aussi avec un explorateur de fichier du bureau , pour le dossier "/sys/class/drm" et son contenu

évidement il ne marche pas comme ça sur Debian9 puisque le driver est nvidia

on devrait avoir le nom de ta sortie vidéo
pour le xorg.conf
de base ceci doit fonctionner
pour le reste et résoudre ton souci (si ce fichier était utilisé sur cette machine )
en fait tu n'a que le driver a modifier "nouveau" => "nvidia"
la doc nvidia (pour linux est bien documenter ) pour le xorg.conf
pour désactiver des sections tu utilise le "#" en début de ligne
par exemple la section "module" je sais pas si correct avec debian
en théorie tu dois ignorer la détection automatique , et le serveur X va appliquer directement les paramètres donner par le fichier xorg.conf
si tout est correct ça va fonctionner
ps: la section "module" n'est pas obligatoire , mais tu peu tester si tu est curieux
teste et donne le retour
pense a regarder le retour du log de X /var/log/Xorg.0.log au besoin
ps: pour ignorer le xorg.conf , il suffit de le renommer xorg.conf.txt

Sans aller jusqu'à flasher l'EEPROM (cf. Wiki), on peut toujours en extraire la substantifique moelle :
J'ai triché juste ce qu'il faut, sur l'en-tête (cf. #26), et aussi supprimé le bloc 1 qui n'a rien à faire là.
après avoir fait un peu de ménage ceci doit fonctionner :
Un peu trop de ménage : EDID étant cassé il faut définir la modeline du mode préféré (cf. le DTD 1).

j'ai modifié la section "monitor" de mon #36 pour la "modeline"
Pourquoi ne pas utiliser celle du DTD 1 ? Et c'est la même que celle fournie par le binaire du noyau...
En farfouillant un peu sur linux-hardware.org, on trouve divers exemples où les EDID sont utilisées.

Il ne te manque pas de fichiers. Les données EDID sont invalides ; le pilote nvidia n'utilise pas KMS :
Cette commande va lister certains modules/pilotes, chargés en mémoire au démarrage (i.e. utilisés).
Le pilote nouveau dépend du (i.e. utilise le) module drm_kms_helper, le pilote nvidia dépend de drm.

pour le 304 je sais pas , mais moi dans ma tête nvidia utilise KMS
le driver nvidia est bien pour le serveur X (je sais pas si un jour il sera compatible Wayland (sans paquet de X) )
mais a la compilation , création des modules et modification de KMS du noyau et blacklist de nouveau
ps: si le driver nvidia est présent sans matériel au démarrage (chargement du noyau) le noyau va pleurer qu il ne peu pas initialiser la carte vidéo
un peu hors sujet sur le souci ici mais bon ( en plus depuis le driver nvidia a bien évoluer)
èfpé me corrigera si je dis une bêtise
tu a utiliser le dernier xorg.conf ? ou celui de base que tu a récupérer ?

Le module drm_kms_helper n'est pas chargé d'où l'absence de répertoire dans /sys/module/ (#41).
Pour info, le retour obtenu sous Debian 9 Stretch, avec un GPU NVIDIA (sans le pilote propriétaire).
Le paramètre edid_firmware était à passer au module drm_kms_helper pour les noyaux 3.4 → 4.14.
Pour les noyaux stables de Debian 10/11 (4.19/5.10), ce paramètre doit être passé au module drm.

C'est relativement récent (364.12, 2016), la série 304xx (2014 → 2017) ne l'utilisait pas, d'ailleurs :
Montre que le module nvidia-legacy-304xx, qui est le seul installé en 304xx, ne dépend que de drm.

Du coup j'ai un choix terrible dans nvidia-settings. Je peux aller jusqu'à 1920x1200.
Cela paraît un peu étonnant quand même. Et bien au-delà des spécifications de l'écran. Que donne :
Par ailleurs la modeline préconisée en #39 ne figure pas dans le fichier de configuration, c'est ballot.
