[résolu] Hiberner ne fonctionne pas

Bonjour,

sous debian Mate, pour mettre en hibernation
je clique sur Système > Éteindre > Hiberner

...j'attends un peu... et ça me met la page de login avec le mot de passe à mettre, et ça reste ainsi. L'ordi ne s'arrête pas.
Si je mets le mot de passe, j'entre dans ma session et les taches que j'utilisais sont présentes.

Je me souviens avoir testé cette fonction avec l'autre "mettre en veille" pour voir la différence. Je préférais mettre en hibernation car le contenu était sur le disque (SSD ici) et ça me demandait de déchiffrer le disque avant de lancer le système, ce que l'autre ne fait pas car il demande seulement le passe du login.
J'avais déjà eu des échecs pour le faire fonctionner puis un jour ça a marché. Je me suis arrêté là croyant que c'était réglé.

Sauf, que aujourd'hui, j'ai voulu à nouveau mettre en hibernation et ça n'a pas fonctionné.
Du coup je viens demander de l'aide.
j'ai regardé différents posts sur le sujet mais n'ai rien vu de semblable à mon problème.

ceci me dit que tu est en veille en ram (mémoire vive )
seul le cpu0 est actif (cpu1 , 2 et 3 offline (inactif)  (ton processeur doit être un quad core ).
l'image du système est en mémoire (pas sur le disque )
le retour sur le bureau est immédiat
la machine n'est pas éteinte , mais en faible consommation

tu a combien de mémoire "ram" et combien fait ton swap ?

j' avoue mélanger les deux type de veille
1) une éteint complètement l'ordinateur et sauve le contenu de la mémoire sur le disque
2) l'autre sauvegarde le système en mémoire et met le système en faible consommation . (pas d' écriture sur le disque )

ps : dans le premier cas le voyant d'alimentation clignote

j'ai 16Go de ram
et le swap indique 1Go, je n'ai rien réglé de spécifique lors de l'installation. Je crois me souvenir que le swap de la version de Debian 10 (le système d'avant sur ce même pc) était beaucoup plus gros.

oui c'est un bug de l' installateur , soit le modifier a l'installation (partition en manuel)
soit le modifier par la suite avec un live et gparted (ou si tu a un double boot avec une autre debian )

Je n'ai pas de double boot donc cela sera avec un live

Mais est-ce possible sur un disque chiffré ? (tout est mis dans une partition je crois, j'ai fait au plus simple n'y comprenant pas grand chose)
Comment y arriver sans faire de bêtise ?

Quelle taille donner au swap ?

le 1 c'est ce que je cherche à faire avec "l'hibernation" sur le disque
le 2 c'est stocké dans la ram " la veille"

C'est une installation avec LVM chiffré. Et bien sûr, tu n'as pas réservé d'espace libre, sinon ça aurait été trop facile, donc pour agrandir le volume swap il faut réduire le volume racine...
Lancer un système live, ouvrir le volume chiffré, activer les volumes logiques, réduire le système de fichiers du volume racine, réduire le volume racine, agrandir et reformater le volume swap. Et laisser de l'espace libre au cas où il faudrait encore agrandir le swap. Dans le cas contraire, il sera très facile de réallouer cet espace au volume racine.

Pour la taille du swap, ça dépend de la quantité de mémoire utilisée au moment de l'hibernation. Dans les logs on peut voir

Normal pages needed: 1488990 + 1024


soit environ 6 Go (1 page = 4 Kio). Evidemment, ça ne rentre pas dans 1 Go de swap.
Il vaut mieux prendre de la marge et prévoir large.

Je me greffe sur ce thread pour une question con (enfin, elle l'est peut-être mais j'avoue que ça l'est pas du tout pour moi qui essaye de comprendre comment tout ça fonctionne) :

Si on crée de la swap pour stocker la mémoire vive durant l'hibernation, est-ce que ça ne revient pas à dire qu'à l'hibernation on stocke ce qui est dans la RAM dans un disque non-chiffré... Annulant du coup l'utilité d'avoir un disque chiffré pour nos données? Je veux dire, il suffirait d'avoir tel ou tel document sensible (genre des mots de passe) ouvert au moment de la mise en hibernation pour que ce doc soit enregistré dans la swap et donc soit lisible par un vilain pirate qui mettrait la main sur l'ordi? Ou alors j'ai rien pigé?

Le swap peut être chiffré. C'est le cas ici, comme lorsqu'on choisit le partitionnement assisté avec LVM chiffré.
D'ailleurs il me semble que l'installateur râle si le système est chiffré mais pas le swap.

Les étapes :

1. Lancer un système live - OK - J'ai lancé mon ancien Disque dur HDD ST1000
2. ouvrir le volume chiffré - OK - Note: Je découvre qu'il y a 2 secteurs endommagés sur mon SSD Samsung principale (celui dont je dois agrandir le swap), ça craint ?

3. activer les volumes logiques - Est-ce que je dois monter la partition "root" avant ? Comment activer les volumes logiques ?

2. Il faudrait vérifier ce que sont exactement ces secteurs "endommagés" avec smartctl -a. Reallocated, ça va. Pending ou Uncorrectable, c'est ennuyeux.

3. Ce n'est pas une partition mais un volume logique. Non, il ne faut pas le monter sinon il ne sera pas possible de le réduire.
Pas besoin d'activer les volumes logiques, ils le sont déjà.

4. Réduire le système de fichiers avec resize2fs qui exigera fsck avant. Ou bien en même temps que la réduction du volume avec l'option --resizefs (jamais utilisée, je ne connais pas sa fiabilité).

5. Réduire le volume logique avec lvreduce. Attention : réduire un volume logique ou une partition sans avoir réduit son système de fichiers rend ce dernier inutilisable.

6. Agrandir le volume logique avec lvextend et le reformater avec mkswap.

7. Lors des opérations précédentes, réduire de X Go et agrandir de Y Go avec X = Y + Z pour disposer de Z Go libres.

Consulter les pages de manuel de toutes ces commandes pour les détails.
